The Gender and Social Inclusion Team of the Wastewater Recycling Plant project, one of the two large plants being built with the funding of the MCC-Mongolia Water Compact, was named as a good practice of applying the UN's "Guiding Principles of Business and Human Rights" in addition to the relevant laws and regulations of Mongolia and the client's requirements.

MCS Property LLC has been operating as the general contractor for both the design and construction of the "Wastewater Recycling Plant". The project's Gender and Social Inclusion Team has participated in the "Employee Friendly Workplace" project implemented under the United Nations' "Business and Human Rights" program with the support of the European Union.

The NGO "Mongolian Women's Employment Support Association," which led the project's implementation, assembled a Mentor team comprising of representatives from the National Human Rights Commission, the National Gender Committee, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry, the Office of the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, and professional experts. The participants of the “Employee Friendly Workplace” project received guidance and support from the project mentors in creating harassment-free work environments. The Gender and Social Inclusion Manager, Bulgan Altankhuu, and Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist, Amgalanzaya Ganzul, have been awarded as certified trainers in sexual harassment at the workplace, which serves to enhance the understanding and knowledge of employees at the project but also to assess the physical and non-physical workplace environment.

"We have developed the Contractor’s Environmental and Social Management Plan along with its sub-plans and policies, strictly aligning them with the procedures and guidelines of the Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Performance Standards of the International Finance Corporation. We are actively working on implementing these plans under the Water Compact. We are proud that our efforts have been recognized for compliance with the UN's 'Guiding Principles in Business and Human Rights', and as highlighted by our mentor, these measures will offer practical assistance in preventing any human rights infringements within the construction industry
