SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Engineer

MCA–Mongolia seeks a SCADA Engineer to provide a wide range of engineering support to the Director, Downstream Wells, and to ensure the adequacy of design criteria, review, and installation of the SCADA system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Program Management Consultant or PMC/FIDIC Engineer on a daily basis to provide information on the implementation progress of projects to the Director, Downstream Wells, and other members of the Management Team as necessary through written briefs.
  • Identify resource requirements, bottlenecks, risks, and mitigation strategies, and report to the Director, Downstream Wells.
  • Support the sustainability team and their “Ger area smart water kiosk upgrade” project.
  • Overseeing and managing the HV Power Supply construction works, control systems, field instrumentation, and instrumentation (I&C) control equipment for projects, including Supply and Installation.
  • Ensure the installed system is appropriately integrated with other equipment and software.

Qualification and minimum requirement:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a higher in relevant engineering discipline such as electrical, automation, mechanical, or computer science engineering.

Work experience:

  • Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience working in large-scale engineering and construction projects or activities in the SCADA control.
  • Experience in completing projects and submitting them to the state commission.
  • Possess the requisite knowledge and expertise in installing, adjusting/configuring, and maintaining gauges, electronic and mechanical measuring equipment, and devices for pressure, flow, level, temperature, and analyzers.
  • Have a proficient understanding and expertise in the specifications, types, and operational principles of mechanisms such as valves, fittings, regulators, and pumps.
  • Capable of managing technological processes based on PID control principles.
  • Experienced in applying logical functions for effective technology management and process control.
  • Hands-on experience working with industrial products, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and modules manufactured by such as Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, and Schneider.
  • Proficiency in utilizing standard interfaces such as Modbus and configuring network modules of technical operations.

Communication and languages:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (ILR Level 3 or above) and in Mongolian both verbally and in writing.

  • Skilled in building employee consensus and developing strong relationships with outside stakeholders.
  • Able to identify and propose solutions to mitigate and manage risks.
  • Able to work under pressure and plan personal workload effectively
  • Skilled in analyzing facts and data to support sound, logical decisions regarding own and others’ work.
