We consume water directly, utilize it for household production activities, and enjoy it for recreational and aesthetic purposes. Water also supports wildlife and biodiversity near our homes and communities and is used in the production of food and most consumer products—few manufacturing processes do not employ water in some manner. In terms of health, the quality of drinking water is determined by the amount of minerals contained in the water. They should be at suitable level for human consumption and not pose any health risks. In developing countries, about 80% of the diseases and one-third of the deaths are caused by unsafe water consumption. + read more
