During the meeting, MCA-Mongolia CEO E. Enkhgerel presented on “Ulaanbaatar Bulk Water Supply Project – Challenges Related to the Industrial Wastewater Pollution.” She emphasized:
“The wastewater discharged to the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWWTP), the effluent supplied from the CWWTP to the Wastewater Recycling Plant (WRP), and the recycled water delivered from the WRP to the Combined Heat and Power Plants must all meet required standards in order to ensure safe and risk-free operation. Therefore, it is essential that factories pretreat their wastewater to meet standards before it enters the CWWTP. Ultimately, industrial wastewater pretreatment crucial for keeping the Tuul River—Ulaanbaatar’s main source of drinking water—clean and healthy.”
