PH.D. CH. JAVZAN PRESENTS ON ”QUALITY OF WATER AND ITS POLLUTION IN MONGOLIA”
Geography and Geoecological Institute (GGI) of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences successfully organized an online open-door events from Nov 23rd to 27th under a campaign called “Let’s share our knowledge” to share new findings, scientific research works. A series of science-based online workshops were held during the event. Under this online campaign, Ph.D. Ch. Javzan, the headmaster of Hydrochemical Laboratory under the Water Resource Management sector of the GGI, presented on “Quality of water and its pollution in Mongolia” on the Nov 25th, 2020.

ELEVENTH REGULATORY MEETING OF WSRC FOR 2020 WAS HELD
The eleventh regular meeting of the WSRC for 2020 was held online on November 27 and discussed the issuance and extension of special licenses of water services providers and other issues. The meeting also revised and renewed water services tariff and required amount of sales revenue of three public utilities in Ulaanbaatar city, Uvurkhangai and Darkhan-Uul provinces. As a response to the "Covid 19" pandemic situation, WRSC decided to make water services tariff regulation for public utilities in several provinces and discussed and approved amendments to water tariff setting methodology and several other issues.

MCUD AND MUB AGREED TO COLLABORATE TO ENSURE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF CWWTP WORKERS AND OTHER ISSUES
Minister of Construction and Urban Development B. Munkhbaatar met with the General Manager of Ulaanbaatar and the Head of Mayor’s Office T. Gantumur and representatives from WSRC and USUG, and agreed to collaborate on certain areas.
- To increase the supply of cleaning agents and equipment for the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant and treatment facilities of hospitals to ensure the health and safety of the workers
- Jointly decide investment for the design and construction of pipeline system to connect 40 apartments and towns in Zaisan area, such as Astra, Enkhjin, and General Town, where the drinking water is polluted, in the 11th khoroo of Khan-Uul district to the central water supply and sewerage network.
- Jointly focus on rising groundwater levels in recent years in the suburbs of the capital city which have led to flooding of basements in apartment buildings and townhouses, high levels of groundwater observed in ger areas, and work on joint research and construction of groundwater drainage facilities.
