[Ulaanbaatar, January 27, 2021] – MCA-Mongolia successfully organized an online Pre-Bid Conference for the Procurement for Construction Works of an Advanced Water Purification Plant and SCADA Controls under the Downstream Wells Activity, one of the key components of the Mongolia Water Compact on January 27, 2021.
More than one hundred individuals representing approximately 60 international and local companies participated in the conference aiming to provide presentations on the works to be performed under the contract, explain the procurement processes, and provide bidders with an opportunity to ask questions directly related to the bidding documents. During the event, a project site video was presented to the participants in lieu of the site visit due to the travel restriction related to Covid-19 pandemic.
At the beginning of the conference, MCA-Mongolia CEO E.Sodontogos provided a brief overview of the Program Activities being implemented under the Mongolia Water Compact and kindly invited the participants to actively participate in the Procurement for Construction Works of an Advanced Water Purification Plant and SCADA Controls.
MCC Resident Country Director Alex Russin briefly introduced the Millennium Challenge Corporation, an independent U.S. Government foreign aid agency, and highlighted the benefits of working with MCC and MCA-Mongolia under the Compact.
Following the opening remarks and brief overview, MCA-Mongolia Deputy Chief Executive Officer S.Zorigt delivered a presentation on the scope of Construction Works of an Advanced Water Purification Plant and SCADA Controls and provided key technical information. This presentation was followed by a project site video.
The Pre-Bid Conference presentations also included information on the important aspects of procurement process, guidance on how to submit a compliant bid and other information related to tax exemption, payment and audit as well as MCC's Anti-Fraud and Corruption Policy.
After the presentations, the conference continued with a Q&A session. To ensure the transparency and fairness of the procurement process, all participants were informed that the PowerPoint Presentations, Minutes of the Meeting, and a Q&A Document from the Pre-Bid Conference will be published on MCA-Mongolia’s website.
