Ulaanbaatar city, September 10, 2022 – September 10th is the Remembrance Day for Victims of Political Repression in Mongolia. For this year’s occasion, S.Odontuya, Member of Parliament and head of the State Acquittal Committee, B.Khuyagbaatar, Chairman of Songinokhairkhan District's Citizens' Representative Khural, and other officials as well as representatives from the victims’ families paid tribute and laid flowers at the memorial monument for the victims of the political repressions that is located at the foot of Songinokhairkhan mountain.
This memorial monument is located near the construction area of the Advanced Water Purification Plant, which is being built by “MAPA Insaat”, a Turkish company, under the MCC-Mongolia Water Compact.
“MAPA Insaat” has shown honor to Victims of Political Repression by refurbishing the monument and cleaning up the surrounding areas and removing weeds around it and providing the necessary funding. This was another good example of a community engagement activity in the project-affected area.
